National Parks - Entrance Fee Free Days For 2022
The National Park service will waive park entrance fees for 5 days in 2022 to encourage everyone to get outside and enjoy our national parks! Mark your calendars with these days for 2022!
- January 17: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- April 16: First day of National Park Week
- August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- September 24: National Public Lands Day
- November 11: Veterans Day
Please note that waivers apply only to park entrance fees. It does not cover any amenity or user fees for other activities like camping or tours.
Also note that most units of the National Park Service do not have entrance fees at all. Out of more than 400 parks, approximately 110 have admission fees that range from $5 to $35. All of the money provided by entrance fees remain in the National Park Service and 80-100% stays in the park where collected. The funds are used to directly support the visitor experience by providing programs and services, habitat restoration and building maintenance and repair.
